Schmid Mimerich, the Nibelung, stole a treasure of gold from the Rhine nymph Wellgunde, but lost it right away. Now, of all things, it’s being guarded by the dragon Fafner. The apprentice Sigi is tasked with retrieving the gold. But then there’s the matter of the enchanted princess Brünnhilde, whom he’s determined to free. Without the audience’s help, that’s probably impossible.
