Info

The Irish author Bram Stoker tells his story *Dracula*, published in 1897, through diary entries, correspondence, telegrams, and newspaper reports.

Stefan Jürgens, best known for the TV series “Soko Donau,” has turned the most famous of all vampire novels into an exciting and captivating reading performance. Focusing on the essentials (100 min.) and enriched with atmospheric sound and music interludes as well as his piano playing, he thus offers the audience an extraordinary auditory experience.

Featuring music by Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Chopin, Kilar, and others. “I am Dracula. And I welcome you.”

When Jonathan Harker, a young English lawyer, sets out on a journey to the remote land of Transylvania in 1875, to assist a nobleman named Count Dracula with a real estate transaction in England, he unwittingly opens the door to an ancient, terrifying secret. His journey, which began with a sense of adventure, quickly turns into pure horror as he begins to uncover the terrible truth about his host and the true nature of the castle: It is a prison from which he cannot escape. While his fiancée Mina, full of impatience and deep concern, awaits Jonathan’s return to England, Jonathan makes one last, desperate attempt to escape from the gloomy castle. Weeks later, a ghost ship drifts off the coast of England, and in the coastal town of Whitby, terrifying events begin to unfold. When the team of vampire hunters—consisting of Dr. Van Helsing, Jonathan Harker, Mina Murray, Dr. John Seward, and Arthur Holmwood, joins forces and begins its hunt for the Blood Countess, the hunters soon find themselves becoming the hunted.
