With his solo projects “Schiller Balladen Rave” and “Jedermann Reloaded,” Philipp Hochmair has created a cross-genre music-theater format. The classical language of the 19th century meets electronic music; well-known ballads meet highly emotional performance. Language, rhythm—everything is explosive, dynamic, performed with high energy yet controlled, shaped into verses and stanzas. As the beats grow harder and harder, Hochmair increasingly becomes a laborer in Schiller’s quarry of words.

The Electronic Hand of God

Austrian high culture meets Dresden East punks. Since 2013, Philipp Hochmair has been performing alongside guitarist Tobias Herzz Hallbauer, electronic sound artist Jörg Schittkowski, drummer Bastien Eifler (since 2020), and Rajko Gohlke (since 2021) on bass and drum machine. Hanns Clasen has been responsible for sound design since 2016. The artist collective came together for the project “Jedermann Reloaded.” They also tour very successfully with the performance “Schiller Ballad Rave” and the stage adaptation of “Hagestolz.”
