His soulful renditions of solo acoustic blues have become his trademark, and with his resonant voice, unmistakable guitar style, and laid-back groove, the Dutch musician—now a resident of Vienna—is in demand worldwide. His tours take him throughout Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. In the U.S.—the birthplace of the blues—Hans is the only European to be a regular fixture at the biggest blues, roots, jazz, and folk festivals, always a guarantee of high-quality blues and roots music. The U.S. press has called the two-time Amadeus Award winner and recipient of the Golden Medal of Merit from the City of Vienna “an international blues treasure,” and the legendary Bo Diddley said, “A hell of a guitarist.” Rave reviews, awards, and nominations have consistently recognized the high quality of his work.
