The art of facing life’s madness with a smile—that’s what the “Bock auf Kabarett” Gala 2026 brings to the stage. Chrissi Buchmasser, Michaela Oberscheider, Hosea Ratschiller, the Viennese “everyday poet,” Ernst Tiefenthaler & the Little Heart Chamber Orchestra, and Grazia Patricia guide the audience through chaotic times to places of longing. Proceeds from the cabaret evening go directly to support the work of the Ute Bock Refugee Project. At Theater Akzent, the audience encounters the big and small absurdities of everyday life: crazy life decisions, comical “experts” on the good life, absurd big-city moments, and those phrases you can only catch in the Viennese metropolis. With plenty of humor, a sharp eye, and affectionate exaggeration, a colorful program emerges about finding one’s bearings, feeling overwhelmed, and the art of keeping on laughing despite it all—so that refugees have a chance!
Stubborn rather than well-behaved, Chrissi Buchmasser takes the stage as she draws the audience into the world of decision-making. Under pressure to act, she leads us into the rush hour of life, where the course for the future is set. A journey filled with refreshing humor.
Michaela Obertscheider, the expert on pretty much everything, gives a talk on how to live a sweet, leisurely, and refreshing life. From laziness as a strategy for creativity to other funny ideas—we could all probably use these tips.
Hosea Ratschiller takes us further to happy places: A city. A store that’s always open. Bright words that bring light to dark times. In these highly political times, this cabaret artist invites us to laugh heartily at it all.
Viennese poet of everyday life Andreas Rainer presents Viennese quirks and plenty of wit through quotes from what is arguably the most livable city in the world. In his first stage show, he demonstrates why, here, the end of the world and salvation are just a splash apart.
Ernst Tiefenthaler and the Kleine Herzkammerorchester skillfully lighten the mood with their music. Grazia Patricia —the cabaret princess with a sharp eye and just the right touch of extravagance—guides the audience through this colorful program.
