Info
A police officer with a history of aggression and an open investigation hanging over his head.
A hairdresser, as charming as she is clueless—and that’s exactly why she’s extremely dangerous.
A journalist whose ideals have just been shredded by the highest bidder.
And right in the middle of it all: Christine. The only one who still believes this motley crew can somehow be sorted out.
Four personalities who seem virtually indestructible—until life decides to intervene with a vengeance. What follows is a razor-sharp dance on the edge between depth and utter madness.
Here, they analyze, discuss, and argue—using every tool in the psychological toolbox: Sigmund Freud is quoted, psychoanalysis is lovingly dissected, moral concepts are shaken to their core, and even truths once believed to be certain turn out to be rather shaky constructs.
Topics? Everything that’s uncomfortable: identity, fear, relationships, loss of control—served up with pace, wit, and the realization that we’re all closer to chaos than we’d like to admit.
And that’s exactly the point:
If everything’s going to fall apart, then let it be done with style. And with laughter. Because sometimes that’s the only therapy that really works.
About the Author: Francis Veber
Francis Veber, born on July 28, 1937, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, is one of the most significant French comedy writers of the 20th century. As a screenwriter, director, playwright, and producer, he shaped the genre with intelligent mainstream comedies full of perfect timing, sharp character conflicts, and subtle social satire. His trademark is precisely constructed stories in which opposites clash: the intellectual versus the naive, the controlled versus pure chaos, the successful versus the eternal loser. Starting from simple premises, Veber masterfully develops chain reactions of misunderstandings and escalations. Among his best-known works are *Dinner for Losers* (*Le Dîner de Cons*), *The Goat* (*La Chèvre*),*La Cage aux Folles*, *L’Emmerdeur*, and*Tais-toi!*. A man who has proven that chaos works best when it’s precisely planned.
